  The Salon is a student run web site for all things connected with the arts -- reading and writing books, short stories, poems, music, ezines, graphic novels, or whatever you are interested in, whether it's publishing, or film, or performance.  You can join the salon and add or ask about whatever information you want.  Fill out our survey form, detailing your interests and needs.  We'll send you an email invite to the salon.  Thanks, and happy creating!

Congratulations to the following winners on their special achievement:

 

1st place - Shannon Spencer, IAF, “Gunpowder Lodge”

2nd place - Dani Masumbol, LATT, “Cigarettes”

3rd place tie - Nazish Ahmad, HST, “The Mirror Said No”  

                        Bri Fournier, CTM, “Where Am I?”

 

Seneca’s top student poets were recognized at the IFOA Markham Ceremony on Tuesday, October 23 at Markham Flato Theatre.   They had the opportunity to enjoy an evening of readings and discussion with the IFOA authors Vincent Lam, Ayesha Chatterjee, Chan Koonchung and Marjorie Celona, international cuisine, slam poetry and an art exhibition.

 

Warmest thanks to all who participated in and promoted this contest.  Special recognition goes to hard-working judges (and poets), Professors Peter Austin, Marilyn Boyle-Taylor, Nic Labriola, Maureen Lennon, Jamie Zeppa and Bruce Hunter (retired).

The contest was generously supported by Seneca International and the Seneca Salon.

 Poetry is alive and well at Seneca.
